The Care Was Scattered
Families were driving from one clinic to a different specialist to yet another therapist, trying to piece together support for speech, behavior, learning, and everything in between.
Every great journey begins with a shared vision. For us, that vision was born on the front lines of special education and therapy. Before founding The Milestone Centre, we were colleagues working side-by-side as employees in various special needs institutes. Day after day, we poured our hearts into helping neurotypical and neurodiverse children (Autism, ADHD, IDD, and learning difficulties). We loved our work, but as we looked closely, we noticed deep, systemic gaps in how care was being delivered.
We saw a profound lack of transparency between therapists, children, and parents. Too often, parents were left in the waiting room, isolated from the very breakthroughs their children were making.
We realized that:
Families were driving from one clinic to a different specialist to yet another therapist, trying to piece together support for speech, behavior, learning, and everything in between.
A few hours of therapy a week isn't enough if parents aren't equipped to continue the sessions at home.
No one was counseling the parents or helping them carry the heavy emotional burden that comes with navigating a neurodevelopmental diagnosis.
One afternoon, we sat down and faced the hard truth: the system was broken, and the families deserved better.
We asked ourselves, “Why don’t we build a sanctuary where these loopholes are finally closed? A place that offers a truly safe space, authentic knowledge, and complete guidance for the entire family?”
We didn’t want parents sitting anxiously in waiting areas anymore. We wanted to open the doors, invite them into the therapy rooms, and train them to become confident advocates and co-therapists for their children.
We didn’t just dream, we acted. We started practicing at a private level, testing our collaborative model and watching families thrive when they were finally included in the process. Witnessing that shift, we knew we couldn’t stop there. We took a leap of faith and officially opened The Milestone Centre.
Today, we wear many hats. We are colleagues, we are employees, we are therapists, and we are founders. But above all, we are partners with each other, and partners with you. We built this Centre on the belief that a child’s progress is limitless when the home and the clinic move in perfect harmony.
