Behavior Therapy

At The Milestone Centre, our specialized Behavior Therapy program is designed by our International Behavior Analyst to support children with neurodevelopmental disorders including autism, ADHD, IDD, specific learning disorders, speech and language disorders and behavioral concerns.
Every child learns differently, which is why every behavior plan we create is 100% customized to your child's unique strengths and goals. Rather than simply managing behavior on the surface, our evidence-based approach focuses on understanding the "why" behind it. Identifying what triggers and maintains specific behaviors so we can teach positive alternatives that replace frustration with cooperation. We use positive reinforcement to celebrate milestones and build confidence, turning everyday challenges into real opportunities for growth.
Our Approach
To provide the highest standard of care, we draw on a variety of proven behavioral approaches, tailored to each child's individual needs:
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA): Breaking down complex skills into small, manageable steps with systematic reinforcement to build language, social, and daily living skills
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helping children manage anxiety, ADHD, or big emotions by identifying negative thought patterns and building coping skills
- Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS): Proactively adjusting environments and routines to prevent challenging behaviors before they start
- Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Using structured play and interactive activities to help children recognize feelings, develop empathy, and build peer relationships
A Partnership With Parents
We don't just work with your child in isolation, we partner with you. Our therapists equip parents and caregivers with practical, hands-on strategies to use at home, ensuring consistency across every environment your child moves through. Whether the goal is improving communication, managing big emotions, or navigating social situations, we give your child the tools they need to thrive.
